Dr. Julian Yu is a highly esteemed, Australian-trained, and Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the hip and knee. With a focus on both robotic-assisted and modern minimally invasive surgical techniques, Dr. Yu is recognized for his expertise in hip and knee replacement surgeries, as well as knee arthroscopy.

Dr. Yu is a high-volume, robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement surgeon, proficient in utilizing this advanced technology to optimize precision and improve outcomes for suitable candidates undergoing joint replacement procedures. This state-of-the-art technology enables preoperative 3D modelling, allowing for a "virtual operation" to be conducted prior to the actual surgery. This process is followed by precise robotic-guided preparation, cutting, and implantation of the prosthesis, offering a more tailored and customized approach to each patient's unique anatomical needs.

Additionally, Dr. Yu is skilled in the latest arthroscopic knee surgery techniques, including minimally invasive and muscle-preserving ACL reconstruction.

Dr. Yu completed his medical degree at the University of Newcastle in 2006 and went on to undertake extensive training in orthopaedics in Sydney. Notably, he was the youngest in his cohort. Following this, he pursued further subspecialty training in hip and knee surgery across several international centres of excellence, including Edinburgh (UK), Lyon (France), and Sydney.

Dr. Yu currently practices in the Northern Beaches, and the Lower North Shore, with hospital appointments at Northern Beaches Hospital and the Mater Private Hospital.

Dr. Yu is bi-lingual and has a strong command of the Chinese (Mandarin) language.
